Heres the story of how @ATT has managed to screw me and Im sure many more. If you dont know youre screwed yet, and you took the bait on their all-in-one family plans, heres the deal: As a long time (many years) as an AT&T customer and a business plan at that, I left an unlimited data plan and bit on the idea of combining data, text, etc and saving a ton of money. Saved us $25 per device per month (at 5 devices, thats a bunch). Now, Courtney needs a new phone and we are all eligible for an upgrade. The phone is .99 with a two year contract or $18/month for 2 years on their other weird NEXT plan. So, a 2 year contract with a company we have our business acct with and dont plan to change isnt a big deal so I take that offer. The kicker, is that now, the $25 credit that is on that device would fall off. In effect, I can either pay $600 for the phone at $25/ month or pay $18/month for 24 months but could upgrade after 18. Neither of these is a good option so I walked out angry and loud. The lady actually told me it wasnt their fault, everyones doing that now. Yep, everyones screwing their customers because they dont have options.
