I know that many will be shocked to read this status, but my Atheist activism and position on the ills and woes of theism has never been one that was ever imposed on our children, unlike many religious families. Our grown daughter has taken the reigns of her own life and has made an informed decision about what she wants her life to look like, which is all we could ever ask for, as parents. She has chosen to live her life as a Christian, and I could not be more proud. What does trouble me is that she was under the impression that, as her mother, I would disown her or give her only grief, as a result of her decision, tho I do understand what gave her that impression, however misguided and far from the love I have for her. My biggest concern is the possible backlash within the Atheist community that could be rearing its head in the coming hours and days. I will defend my child, at the peril of all of my non-theist friendships. Nuf said on that. We love you, Rachel Williamson.
