I know why celebrities black, white or otherwise, and the young (non minorities) and even some minorities of the world are not so interested in the cause of raising awareness and fighting for justice in the case of Mike Brown and similar cases... Its because there is no cool way to glorify themselves in the process of doing it! There are no cool videos going viral. No cool wristbands or memorabilia to rock in support. There are no cool challenges associated with the cause of these black boys lives except for, of course, the continuous challenge to be black in America. Its sort of disheartening to me to see so many people who usually have so much to say turn such a blind eye to these issues. Idk whether its guilt, shame, sadness, or simply feeling that you have nothing of value to add to the conversation. But then again, you have to ask yourselves, what does pouring a bucket of ice water on yourselves do exactly? I suppose if youre looking for what YOU can get in return out of caring then the fight for justice is not the cause for you. Its a selfless journey that knows no end or rest until justice is served in every way possible. We crusaders are not offering t shirts or hats, but instead a world where EVERYONE feels safe in their skin, homes, cities, towns, WORLD...
