Joy in the shop! Finally found a cheap stereo reciever with old fashion speaker connections. An auxillary cord from laptop to reciever and I have that great big box speaker sound for playing my digital music and internet radio. As far as they have come, none of the affordable computer speakers have ever satisfied me the way those huge home stereo ones do. A happy carver makes better pipes! On the negative side, you may have to endure more of my posting of sappy, worn out classic rock, country, blues, folk....
