King of Saudi Arabia strongly endorsed Egypts new president - TopicsExpress

King of Saudi Arabia strongly endorsed Egypts new president el-Sisi and wants to now organise a donor-conference to help Egypt get on its feet economically. And he made an interesting statement: Any able country failing to contribute to help Egypt would have no future place among us. He is referring to Qatar, I guess. How come such a conservative Islam country as Saudi Arabia is so happy with el-Sisi and rejected the Muslim Brotherhood? Easy. Saudi Arabias regime is strongly Islamic, but is fully set against any movement that might make an end to the rule by the royal family. Its about power. The rather secular regime of Egypt and the rather Islamic regime of Saudi Arabia like to support each other in the battle against revolution. Religion plays only a minor role.
