When: Dec 6th for ages 8 and up Learn what you can start doing now from Florida to make sure you can start being considered for roles being cast in Los Angeles. This class will introduce all of the important auditioning techniques that will give each actor the extra advantage of understanding the casting process and learn how to own the room with confidence! Each actor will fully understand casting in front of and behind the scenes of the casting office for the first time. Amber will show the actor the whole process. This is important for the advanced actor to grasp, so he or she can gain the confidence needed to attack the process. Knowledge is power! So the more you know about each situation, the off you will be in this business. One parent per actor needs to plan to stay the first 30 minutes of this class, and then will be released when we start work with the kids on the sides and scripts. This class if for the actor who wants to feel that extra connection! The skills that will be taught in this class will build upon what each actor works on in their acting and coaching. Each actor in class will receive different sides to be memorized before class time! We will also work on taking direction in different ways in the audition room for television and film scripts. We will focus on the moment before the line, and not the line itself. We will work a lot on listening as if you are hearing the lines for the first time. This is critical when it comes to setting apart the top youth talent in the business. This skill alone makes a huge difference. There will be a lot of focus on getting into character quickly in the audition room. We will work on evoking emotions into the reader and making sure the person you are reading with never forgets reading with you! We will also cover asking the right questions in the audition room. We will also work on booking smaller roles, because surprisingly those are sometimes harder to book that the larger roles because there are fewer words to showcase your talent. There are a lot of valuable tips and tricks Amber will share with the actors on how to easily stand out while auditioning for these parts! Ninety percent of the time when an actor reads for a film or television show, there is a camera in the room! That means the tape will most likely be watched again. Amber is going to teach the young talent how to make sure their tape is never fast scanned through. She will teach the actors how to make sure whoever is watching is never distracted and can’t look away from their scene! Since everything is electronic now, it is so easy to be distracted watching hundreds of tapes on the same auditions scene. Amber is going to show you how to pump up your AWESOMENESS and make sure you are not skipped over during this process. The class will also be watching actual TV/Film auditions from Amber’s casting office in LA. The class will even do actual scenes, watch other actors perform the same scenes in different ways, and then watch the audition tapes of the actual actors that booked the role! The tables will turn, and the actors will gain a lot of insight into what works and what doesn’t work in the room.
