My dad is a rock. He is stable, secure, and deeply rooted enough - TopicsExpress

My dad is a rock. He is stable, secure, and deeply rooted enough to pull others up. He believes in second chances; he believes in 3rd, 4th, and 5th chances. He believes you keep going until you get it right. He is a problem solver. His mind clicks, clicks, clicks until it lands on a solution. You can see his eyes retreat for a second and then roar back with an answer. He is innately attuned to peoples feelings and he figures out the best path even if its bumpy, even if it twists and turns, even if he has to stop and go back to the beginning. He recognizes mistakes for what they are and then he moves on, often laughing. He is forgiving and though he lets his friends and family stumble, he reaches out when he needs to. He calls my husband, son. My husband calls him, dad. He loves to take his granddaughters shopping. As I thanked him this morning for being who he is, I realized that his optimism and his willingness to persevere through the tough stuff to get to the good stuff are the qualities I admire in him most. Life isnt perfect and, as he always says, we arent either. Thanks, Dad, for always seeing the good in everything. I live by your example.
