Nigeria is a country in reverse of basic norm... Life as a young Nigerian youth is draining. Expect to wake up everyday doing nothing because their are no jobs, the government in my country doesnt see job creation has an option or its functions, so industries are not created we just import everything, we have natural resources, monthly they share the national cake equitably among themselves, no wonder their tommy is so big. Aside the fact that their isnt job for Nigerians, no access to soft loans for the enterprising ones who are passionate to create innovative businesses that can employ the unemployed. You cant access loan in my country except you among the rich and mighty, the big question i ask in this country is why would a rich man need a loan? Isnt loan suppose to be an urgent assistance to elevate suffering with prospect to payback on a later date? in Nigeria the definition is in reverse. If you wake up in Nigeria, so many unanswered questions clouds your mind, what type of economy do our government run? No social amenities, 70% of the Nigerian populace live on less than a dollar per day, yet you would have to pay for Power, huge electricity bills lands on your door-post monthly, no consumer protection in my country because you pay for services that were never rendered, you cant protest or complain as this service providers are the law themselves; they simple just cut you off. In reality Nigeria should be called a 3rd world slave country. Scholarships and employment adverts are only dawn on the pages of newspapers or shown on television, while the government or the private firms charge you for having to even take an employment interview, over 15 youths died and scores of hundred wounded 3months ago as they attended a Nigerian immigration screening test to fill 5000 vacancies in the agency, a test the agency charged about 7dollars from over 700,000 Nigerians and yet non of this individual got employed, the presidency finally came out to announce the screening has been cancelled and their money were never refunded, these are unemployed youths for heaven sake #laughable. I wake up everyday with questions I just cant answer, incase you have the answers to this dreaded questions you can always share them with me, this would give me a better self satisfaction and hope that my own children would live in a better Nigeria tomorrow or else they wouldnt even be a Nigerian citizen. 1. Would Nigeria ever overcome massive corruption in government? an elected Nigerian president said a month ago, we shouldnt use corruption in all cases, rather use the word stealing, according to him, these officials just engage in what is called stealing but we blow the polity and call all forms of impunity corruption #ah! #boneface. 2. Is their a political will to end the insecurity in the country ? Boko Haram scares the hail out of all Nigerians, we have all read the story of a man who went to the bank and screamed am a Boko Haram member and everyone went AWOL, only to return back later and know it was a false alarm, the man is currently in the court, I guess Nigerians are in fear that we sleep with one eye open. 3. What is the future for our generations yet unborn when the same leaders I grew up to call president are still the same ones holding electoral positions in the country. I bet the acronym children are the leaders of tomorrow doesnt apply in Nigeria. A country where its youth leader is a 64 years old man. My grandfather fought for Nigeria in the Biafran war, he shared his hope for a better Nigeria with me before he died, this 2014 nothing has changed #sameleaders #corruption #impunity #injustice #smh 4. Do I have a right? Is my right ever protected? Im I free in my own country? Can I question my constituency elected councillor when his priority isnt me is electorate but his godfather? Does my life mean anything to my government? 200 girls are still been held by Boko Haram and all protest to implore government to bring back the girls has been banned. #sadfaze Jerome Etim
