OBITUARY FOR JOY JACKSON: JOY JACKSON, age 64, of Washington CH, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:36 a.m. at the OSU Ross Heart Institute. She was born on August 14, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to John D. and Alice Mae Randall Jackson. She had worked as a teacher’s assistant at Cherry Hill Elementary School for more than 22 years. She was a 1967 Washington High School graduate and obtained her paraprofessional license. She was a very active member of the Heritage Memorial Church and was involved in the Fully Alive Ladies Ministry. She had served as a Camp Fire leader, enjoyed gardening, babysitting and being with children, spending time with her children and grandchildren, was a cheerleading mom for the Pony League program and was very good in the kitchen. She recently took up paper crafting and card making. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Robert C. Jackson and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include her husband John Jackson, whom she married on October 5, 1968; her children Tyrone “Scott” (Lynnette) Jackson of Arizona, Jason Robert Jackson of Kentucky, Matthew David (Kim) Jackson of Washington CH, Allison Erin (Ben) Kelble of North Carolina and Stephen Charles Jackson of Washington CH; grandchildren Dionté Marqué Holmes,Tylah Johneá Jackson, Tyrone “Boogie” Scott Jackson II, Jalyn Alyse Jackson, Kason Robert Jackson, Garyn David Jackson, Trevor Keller, Johnny Belles, Reven Summer Jackson and Mattylen Taylor Jackson; siblings Larry (Julie) Striblin of Columbus, Tony (Ruth) Striblin of Missouri, Randall Jackson of Washington CH, Tommy (Kathy) Jackson of Circleville, LaDonna Jackson of Washington CH, Nicole (Tony) Woodfork of Dublin and Sandy Jackson of New York; mother-in-law Charlene Jackson of Washington CH; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends including special friend, Sue Young. Also surviving are her “six amigos” Jennifer Shears, Ellen Dolphin, Kathy Laswell, Kellie Rummer, Susan McPherson and Robyn Smith and all the staff at Cherry Hill Primary School as well as her loving family at Heritage Memorial Church. Joy’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to every individual in this community and in these United States that offered prayers for her. The family appreciates all your love. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church with Pastor Bruce Morrison and Rev. Joe Duvall officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. The graveside service will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Cemetery.
