Out in the Open: Remember the Sabbath! MANIPULATE: Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (KJV) Manipulate: What if you were on your way to church…to praise God! You’re up and out the door You show up…and no one’s there! You came on Sunday…the first day of the week! 92.3 % of the church services held in this country are held on Sunday morning. The day God isn’t there to greet you! Because He told you to come and observe, celebrate and worship with Him on Saturday…the seventh day of the week! The Sabbath! The Sabbath Day: Genesis 2: 1 tells us: 1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (KJV) AND: Exodus 20:8 tells us: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. (KJV) The Bible clearly tells us to remember the Sabbath because Father God told us…His people…to do so. The Sabbath day is the day God rested from His work of creation. He called it the seventh (7) day…the day we’ve come to know as Saturday. How do we know that the Sabbath falls on a Saturday…the “Holy Bible” tells us so! Luke 23:52 tells us: 52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. 53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. 54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. 55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. 56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. (KJV) “Good Friday” The day that the Lord died has been known for centuries as “Good Friday” and the six (6) day of the week. Verse 55 tells us that the Lords body laid at rest on the Sabbath day…the seventh day as God had commanded us to observe. They observed the Sabbath and did no work that day (Saturday) and continued with the Lord Jesus Christ burial preparation on Sunday…the first (1st) day of the week. Sunday: The 1st Day of the Week: Luke 24:1 tells us: 1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. Luke chp 23 and chp24 gives us a complete picture of the three (3) days that transpired in reference to the day Christ died and the Sabbath and what day of the week they fell on! We know: · The day of the Lords death which is called “Good Friday”. · The Sabbath Day which is Saturday the 7th day of the week which the woman observed in Luke 23 verse 55. · The first (1st) day of the week…Sunday! (Luke 24:1) How did Saturday the 7th day and Holy Sabbath Day wrongly become accepted as a day of remembrance and worship? Remember Daniel 7:25: 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (KJV) Sunday is not nor ever was a day ordained by God to come before Him to remember, to praise or to worship. Like the book of Daniel tells us the enemy is actively working to throw Gods people of course, and to lose times (which means dates that we are to remember), and laws (which means commandments that we are to follow), so that Gods people are off track in our celebrating, praise and worship to our Holy Father! How did Sunday come to be recognized as a day of remembrance! Followers of Satan were in power in Rome during the days of the early church and conquered up a plan to place their Sun gods worship day in place of the Sabbath. Here is a statement from Dr. Gilbert Murray, M.A., FBA, and Professor of Greek at Oxford University. He wrote: “Now since Mithras (Roman deity) was the great sun, the unconquered, and the sun was the Royal Star of Roman religion. The religion (Roman followers) looked for a king whom it could serve as a representative of Mithras upon the earth/land. The Roman Emperor seemed to be clearly indicated as the true king at the time. But in sharp contrast to Christianity, Mithraism recognized Caesar as the bearer of divine grace and power. The idea had so much acceptance that the followers of Mithras was able to impose on the Christian world its own sun-day in place of the Sabbath; its sun’s birthday, the 25th of December, as the birthday of Jesus Christ and a day of worship to the sun. The Sabbath must be observed as Father God has commanded and put back on the calendar for all Christians to follow and remembered. Remember to rest and take time out to remember Father God’s beautiful work, and to celebrate through communion, prayer and worship out in the open and in the light that is Christ Jesus! Amen!
