Personally speaking. I think every person that has anything to do - TopicsExpress

Personally speaking. I think every person that has anything to do with the US Government should immediately be put through a background check, today, and "We The People" be the deciding ones of those we chose to keep, after, all of the information that is gathered, on all of the ones that have anything to do with the US Government, whether elected or appointed, or by any other means that they hold any position of influence, advisement or authority, without exception, has been made public on each and every one of them, without anything being redacted from their files. This includes the heads and Assistants of the CIA, the FBI, NSA, etc, without exception, 5 levels down from the top of that Office. Our Government is a Republic, which means it is a Government based upon the rule of Law and The Constitution. Our Government is not a Democracy, which means majority rules. In spite of what some may think, there is not a majority in place. We have 2 Branches of the Legislative Branch, which is currently divided, and we have the Executive Branch, which are the two Branches of Government which make and pass Laws. We did have a Majority in place when Obamacare was passed and the last round of bailouts were given, when the auto companies were taken over, and to a great extent, given to the unions ... not the union members, the unions, ... and many of the Auto Dealerships were taken away from those who had paid for them, with relevant prejudice involved in the decisions of which ones stayed open, but we were still not a Democracy. Our Government is not an Oligarchy, which really could surprise some people in Washington, and all across this nation, because an Oligarchy is a Government which is ruled by an "Elite Group of People". The people we have in Washington are definitely people ..... "Elite" ... is an entirely different discussion. No one in our Government is Elite, but there is one branch, common day Democrats, along with the News Media, who think they are the Elite Group to govern this nation, and conduct themselves in such a manner as they criticize, ridicule and insult the integrity of those who differ with them, or think something should be done another way, and have described those who differ with them as "Like the Taliban" and other extreme comments. Yesterday, June 16, 2013, Elizabeth Palmer of CBS News compared the Iranian presidential candidates to the Tea Party. These are her words. “Well, he (Hassan Rahjani, the winner of the IRANIAN election) was seen as the most reform-minded of all the candidates who ran this time, that being said, they were all very conservative. In US terms it was as if all the candidates for the presidency came from the Tea Party.” The politicians and the News Media sound like and conduct themselves in such a manner as an Oligarchy, but they do not possess the wisdom to truly be classified as "Elite". We are also not a Monarchy, a Government ruled by a King or a Queen, even though we have two people living in the White House who spend the Governments money like it is theirs to spend. Just thinking out loud, while wishing I had studied more about history, government, social studies and economics when I was in school.
