TEAM CHARLIE UPDATE: Well, it appears our little Stinkpot has done it again!! Sometimes, God makes me laugh out loud with the miracles He gives to us and those we love so much. Little Charlie is no exception! He tolerated his new tube installation today and is resting comfortably on Tramadol. He is no longer on the Fentanyl patch. Cher told me the new tube began draining immediately, and the stuff coming out was not at all pretty! This confirms the doctors fear that the fluids being used to flush his wound were merely transporting the aggressive bacteria over to the other side of his neck, where it was then pooling under his healthy skin tissue. It would have been only a matter of hours before a new open sore presented itself on the other side because of the aggressive bacteria attacking the tissue underneath. Within just a matter of a few hours, not only is Charlie feeling better, but when Cher returned to the hospital to visit, the nurse had Charlie outside for a potty. Yes, the nurse had to support him, but Charlie has enough bowel and bladder function to POTTY on his own! Oh, Im not done yet. It gets better.... There is a bit of a down side to all of this. It looks like Cher will be needing to wash her own face tonight. Yes, I know its hard to hear this. It is even harder to type it. The thought of her exposing the innocent people of Billings, MT, to her unclean face is really more than I can bear after the week Ive had. Let me explain. Apparently, Charlie is feeling SO much better, that even his, attitude, has returned. He was with his nurse, Kathy in the hall. His Daddy, Eric whistled and Kathy reported that Charlies ears perked right up! When he sees Mommy and Daddy, he growls, barks, and wags his tail! Anytime another dog went by, he perked up and started sniffing. However, when Cher thought she was good to get her evening facial, she was in for a big surprise. Instead of her evening facial, what Cher got was SNUBBED! Yeah, you read that correctly. The girl got SNUBBED!! LOL She assumed her normal position, asked for a kiss, and that little Stinkpot immediately stuck his nose into the blanket! LMBO!!! And it wasnt coming out! Not no how, Not no way! NO! I howled with laughter when she told me that! Seeing that much feisty come back into her baby boy, was just the lift that Mommy needed. So, tonight, we celebrate this victory with Charlie, and Mommy, and Daddy! We still await the culture test to come back, but at least Charlies back on the road to recovery and his fight got its MoJo back today. Thank you, Lord for yet, another miracle!!!
