The built-in phono preamp brings the audio output of the Sony PS-LX300USB turntable up to that of an ordinary line level input device such as a CD player or cassette deck, etc. For example, the Sony PS-LX300USB turntable’s built-in RCA line output cord can be connected to the green color-coded 3.5mm Line Input Jack on the Sony SRF-18 Radio with a Y-audio adapter because the Sony PS-LX300USB turntable features a built-in phono preamp. The Sony PS-LX300USB turntable’s built-in PHONO/LINE EQ Switch must be set to the LINE (EQ ON) position in order to hear sound from the connected Sony SRF-18 Speaker Dock Portable Radio. However, if your turntable does not feature a built-in phono preamp, then you can’t connect it to this Sony SRF-18 AM/FM Stereo Pocket Radio.
