The weather is slowly but surely changing...that means getting our summer bodies ready!!!Here are a few easy tips to follow: Change all those refined carbs for more fibrous unrefined carbs that will help keep you fuller for longer; increase your unsaturated fat intake from sources such as your unsalted nuts and seeds (remember 10-15g is ONE portion!); avo, olive and canola oils; margarine rather than butter; increase your fruit intake by making a breakfast smoothie with yoghurt, milk and 2 fruit; have your lean forms of protein by cutting off all excess skin and fat from meat BEFORE preparation and use healthy cooking methods such as braising, steaming, boiling, braaing or in the oven; Count your starch based veggies (butternut, pumpkin, mielies, corn, peas, sweet potato and potato) as your carb portion. Increase your water intake by having 2 glasses of water BEFORE every meal; Get active and aim for 150minutes of exercise per week. Vary your type of exercise every week; LOVE YOUR FOOD AND EXPERIMENT WITH ALL HEALTHY OPTIONS! healthy eating does not mean its more expensive. HAVE AN AWESOME TUESDAY!! :)
