This is the sad truth in the country music industry today... All whoa whoas and hey girls and good stuff in our cups. Our first reaction is to blame the artists and the writers but they are just giving the public what they will buy and crank up in their jacked up trucks. Our music will always only be as good as we are listeners. Be a critical listener you get critical writers. You can be critical without being a music snob. Im not advocating a group of country hipsters who only listen to Charley Pride on vinyl (but I do advocate listening to Charley Pride on any medium😊). Its a give and take from listener to writer and vice versa. If we will only buy feel good party music thats all youll get because artists/writers need to have a job. I love change and growth and Im happy for the success these artist are having but I like good music more. I like the history of country music more. Youre up against a big wall if you want to make an album that means something these days. Nobody wants to feel emotions, everyone just wants to raise a plastic cup. Im just waiting to see where I fall into that world. :) Listen hard. All music will be better for it. Stay tuned.
