This is why Im doing it....asked a station owner for more information - if she had children...and those stations around her...this is her reply: Farm A have 3 girls and 1 boy 11,8,6,3 boy is 3, we (Farm B ) have 2 girls nearly 11 and nearly 7. Farm C have 2 girls 7 and 1.5 and a boy 4. We all just got back from Mini school so are washing a weeks worth of clothes before hitting the school room again on Monday, but today we are having some family time as it is the first day in 140 days that my husband has been given a day off, so we are going to watch a movie together this evening after feeding animals this afternoon. Most of the time we are single parents as our husbands have to go elsewhere to bring in some money too. All 3 of us with kids teach our kids between the hours of 8 and 4 whilst looking after the littlies too, doing the bookwork, home duties and feeding stock, we dont have Govies or home help so are feeling particularly ragged this year. My kids have started their own business cowgirl Cosmetics Goats milk soap to try and help pay for the feed for our horses and animals. They sell on FB (which I manage for them) and at functions, markets, and campdrafts(but not many of them this year because of the drought). But we are still very proud they are helping out and understanding. One of the owners is trying to pick up as much work for his truck to bring in money for feed and also mustering. Hope this helps. We CAN make a difference if we all just do a little bit.
