Timor-Leste PM Gusmao concludes official visit to Vietnam Thursday, 05/09/2013 - 10:40 PM (GMT+7) Timor-Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao and his entourage left Ho Chi Minh City on September 5, wrapping up a three-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. Earlier the same day, the Timor-Leste PM had a meeting with Chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam. Chairwoman Tam briefed the guest on the city’s socio-economic situation while voicing her hope that his visit creates a turning point to boost multifaceted co-operation between the countries. Expressing his admiration for HCM City’s healthy growth, Gusmao spoke highly of the city’s role in Vietnam and said Timor-Leste is willing to learn from Ho Chi Minh City’s experience in the management and organisation of authority apparatus. During his stay in Vietnam, PM Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao held talks with his Vietnam counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung and met with President Truong Tan Sang and National Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
