We are 10-12 miles as the crow flies southeast of the northern active portion of the Black Forest fire. At this point we are good. We can see the plumes (the flames Tuesday night). The smoke since early Wednesday afternoon has been blowing north - you can see it blowing until it reaches the horizon. We are feeling very blessed and are keeping all those impacted in our prayers. The stories are heart-wrenching, and it makes me weep for joy when I hear of a rescue. Thank you to everyone working to control this fire..it has been indescribable to watch how fast it travels on the horizon. This is going to be a long summer, it feels long already..I pray all my loved ones stay safe.
