The influence that sparked recording artist Cam’ron’s mutli-platinum group The Harlem Diplomats signature production and the creative genius behind Jim Jones super group “The Byrd Gangs” sound is back with his own movement which is known as the PROPAIN CAMPAIGN! Agallah returns to prominence with his critically acclaimed mix tape “Forever Fire” that is lighting up the hip-hop scene ablaze. Check his newly released and highly anticipated album “Red Velvet”! It was 1996, at the CMJ Convention where an epic battle between Supernatural and Craig G had torn the roof off the place. Still frenzied from the legendary performances, the crowd watched as a fresh young Emcee took the stage. Few MC’s could have followed that. Little did the audience know that they were about to witness history. Agallah crushed it like no other. The crowd was stupefied at the brilliance that poured forth from Agallah – he is the real deal, and now everyone knew that. Soon, so would the rest of the world. The community demanded a record. Little did they know Agallah had in fact been signed over to Elektra West records in 1995 where he had already released his first single, “Ghetto Girl.” It all started in 1992, where a heavy hitting 18-year-old Brooklyn native then known as 8-Off, inked a deal with Tommy Boy Records as an artist. In November of the same year, Source Magazine recognized him as the “Unsigned Hype”. While at Tommy Boy, 8-Off was introduced to the Queens based group, Onyx, for whom he would produce the album “All We Got is Us.” At his new label, eventually his name changed to 8 Off Agallah. Sylvia Rhone of Elektra East West Records pushed Agallah to release “Ghetto Girl” as a single and found mainstream success. The video for “Ghetto Girl” had appearances by Keith Murray and a young Ashanti of Murder Inc. Although his premier album, “Wrap Your Lips Around This” wasn’t released until after his debut appearance at CMJ in 1996, the success of “Ghetto Girl” caught the attention of the legendary Das EFX, who encouraged 8 Off Agallah to tour. Agallah would go on to open up for artists such as Run DMC, as well as ONYX on Dr. Dre’s legendary the Chronic Tour. He was immediately catapulted into Stardom. In the years following, he would co-write, ghostwrite and produce for the likes of Busta Rhymes, KRS-One, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Eminem, Anthony Hamilton, DJ Premier, Guru of GangStarr, RZA, Wu-Tang, DJ Tony, Big Pun, The Alchemist and many others. Along the way, he released “Imagine Your Life” (2002 Game Records) “You Already Know” (2006 Babygrande Records) and A.N.G.E.L.: A Nigga Got to Envision Life” (2009 Propain Records). His song“Risin’ to the Top” appeared in the Grand Theft Auto III video game. Agallah later teamed up with Rockstar Games to record the soundtrack for Midnight Club 2. His beats are also in the EA /Sports basketball game NBA Live 08. Agallah’s sound has a classic flow, yet fresh buzz that has carried him to success. He is a highly regarded pillar of hip hop that reflects longevity in an industry famous for short careers.
