triblive/mobile/6957243-96/program-board-wrestling Parents, Friends, Wrestlers, and Former Wrestlers. We need your help. Please come to October 20th meeting. Show support. We got well over 40 kids in our elementary wrestling program. Who will have nothing to look forward to if they cancel this program. This varsity program is suffer from major lack of district support. Not necessarily participation. We had no clue this was even on the agenda last night, they failed to inform us. They wonder why the varsity program has small amount of participants, but fail to have a jr. High program to gap the transition elementary program to varsity wrestling. When kids go two years without being able to do a sport (7th and 8th grade) theyre naturally going to lose interest. They need to keep this program, and bring back a jr. High team. Let the kids work there way up. The numbers are there in the youth program. The talent is DEFINITELY there with 6 league champions last year, an area champion and state qualifier, and a greco style state champion. All on the elementary program alone.
