18+ Post: Video and photographic material shows evidence of torture and alleged war crimes being committed on POWs by soldiers of the Donetsk Peoples Republics (DNR) rebel forces in Shakhtarsk, on July 31, 2014: a clear breach of International humanitarian law and the Geneva convention. A Ukrainian POW was filmed and photographed being forced to drag at least one deceased Ukrainian soldier from the road; and dig what appears to be a grave. One DNR rebel soldier, DImitry Gritsyuk, a Russian citizen from St Petersburg, shot graphic video and photographs of the battle aftermath, including posing in one photo with his friends standing over the remains of a Ukrainian soldier. These were posted on YouTube and social media. One pro-Russian site suggested one POW had died, posting a photo. It does look similar to a POW seen alive, but this cannot be CONFIRMED and remains a major question. The dead Ukrainian soldiers appear to have been looted by DNR rebels. This is more proof that Russias military is fighting on Ukrainian territory, against the Ukrainian army, in this instance apparently under the guise of DNR rebels opposed to Kievs government.
