A little early, but tomorrow and the day I fly off are going to be extremely busy. On May 15th, 2011, I landed aboard Americas Flagship, super hung-over from the night before in Bahrain as a young junior Sailor. In my time since then, I have learned a lot, experienced a lot, and matured a lot. During the WEST PAC deployment in 2011, I became a Shell Back, worked my ass off in S-2 Cargo, had a lot of fun with those guys working 18 or more hours a night. After Deployment I bought a Jeep and made E-4. In Bremerton, Wash., I enjoyed the many community service projects, making and meeting new friends and hopefully long term connections. Started going to college at Vincennes University, lost Junior Sailor of the year, and Junior Sailor of the Quarter twice for the command, WIN SOME, LOSE SOME. Enjoyed the struggles of leading the best association aboard the Reagan, 3&2 Assoc. Hooyah!. Was a 2 year member of the Reagan’s Honor Guard team, taking pride in what we do as a service. Got my warfare pins, made E-5, was promoted to Photo Work Center Supervisor, Rank and power got to my head, hard to realize while it happens until it is too late lol, made some, few, many mistakes, got fired, learned from my mistakes as a young leader. The biggest achievement in my life thus far is stepping up as a father to my son Jack. In the past 3 years, I have been to Bahrain, Hong Kong, Guam, Hawaii, San Diego, Bremerton, Portland, and Puerto Rico. As I prepare to fly off, completing a successful tour with the best men and women in the fleet, past and present, I am remembering those who have mentored me, and shaped my perspective and attitude for the future. Thank you and hope to see you again in the future.
