ACADEMIC AND CAMPUS SUPPORT Competition # 134/13 Re-Post POSTING DATE: November 7, 2013 CLOSING DATE: November 14, 2013 APPOINTMENT DETAILS: Department/Campus: Orangeville Campus Classification: Support Staff Status: Part-time Payband/Salary Range: Band 5, $16.70 – $20.88 Reports to: Manager, Campus Services and Community Relations Hours per week: Up to 24 hours per week (may include non-traditional hours) Effective Date: As soon as possible – March 31, 2014 (renewed annually) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent provides academic and campus support with record keeping, corporate training, and proctoring / invigilating exams. The incumbent is also the primary contact to assist students with OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) and Student Insurance, and provides back up reception and registration coverage as required. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: • Proctoring and invigilating exams (internal and external) including administering CPA (Communications Placement Assessment) tests and testing through adaptive technology • Assist in the set-up, enrollment and testing for the General Educational Development (GED) program • Assisting in the recruitment of new students by attending information sessions and Open Houses • Co-proctor quizzes, tests and exams • Distributing or collecting information from Academic Upgrading students including performing surveys • Researching and collecting information on potential student clinical placements • Researching and providing information to assist in the development of future programs / business for the campus • Administering all Student Feedback Surveys for the part-time faculty evaluation process by scheduling surveys, transcribing, and collating results for the Manager • Providing coverage for reception and registration as required which may include evening and weekend coverage • Some operational and marketing duties as required including opening and closing of the Campus QUALIFICATIONS: Georgian College invites and encourages applications from all qualified candidates including persons of Aboriginal ancestry, members of visible minorities, persons with disabilities, and women. • Successfully completed a one year postsecondary certificate in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to Office Administration • Two years’ experience in an office environment providing support where duties included providing customer service, reception, and maintaining records / files • Experience using general banking practices to perform duties such as: reviewing budgets to identify discrepancies, preparing bank deposits, reconciliations, etc. • Demonstrated experience using a cashiering system to balance payments, and securing money orders to assist with the registration process • Experience and knowledge using computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite to answer inquiries and prepare documents • Communication (written / oral) and problem solving skills to deal with a diverse clientele with professionalism and tact • Organizational and time management skills to work on various tasks simultaneously and meet conflicting deadlines • Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team environment • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings / weekends) as required • Experience with adaptive technology and financial information systems would be considered an asset HOW TO APPLY: To be considered for this position, please forward your application to [email protected] quoting the competition number (i.e. 134/13) in the subject line of the email.
