ASSALAMUALYKUM-WARAHMATULLAH-WABARAKATU, WIISHING YOU A BLESSED JUMAA MABRUK AND A WONDERFUL AND HAPPY EID-UL-ADHA. Todays Hadith; Another Opportunity The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “On no days is the worship of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) desired more than in the first ten days of Zil-Hijjah. The fast of each of these days is equal to the fast of a whole year, and the Ibaadat (worship) of each of these nights is equal to the Ibaadat of Laylatul Qadr.” [Tirmidhi] Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) blesses us with yet another opportunity to cash in on. Each day of fasting equal to a whole year of fasting! One Nafl prayer in one of these nights like praying a Nafl in Laylatul Qadr! SubhanAllah. These ten days are better than all the other days of the year, even the last ten days of Ramadan. But the last ten nights of Ramadan are better, because they include Laylatul Qadr which is better than a thousand months. [Tafseer Ibn Katheer] Allah swears an oath by these ten days in Surah al-Fajr, “By the dawn, by the ten nights” and swearing an oath by something is indicative of its importance and great benefit. Ibn Abbas, Ibn al-Zubayr, Mujahid and others of the earlier and later generations said that this refers to the first ten days of Zil-Hijjah. Ibn Katheer concurs that this is the correct opinion.
