Advice Issued For: Merrinee, Pirlta, Thurla, Yatpool, Nowingi, Red Cliffs, Carwarp, Benetook Fire Origin: 29 KM WEST OF NOWINGIE Incident Name: MURRAY SUNSET NP - ROCKET LAKE Issued: 26/01/14 10:31 AM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Merrinee, Pirlta, Thurla, Yatpool, Nowingi, Red Cliffs, Carwarp, Benetook. The Rocket Lake fire 29 KM WEST OF NOWINGIE in the Murray Sunset National Park has subsided. The fire is currently under control. Wyperfeld National Park, including Lake Albacutya, Big Desert Wilderness Park and the section of the Murray Sunset National Park south of the Sturt Highway will remain closed to the public over the long weekend and into next week. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. The next update is expected by 27/01/14 10:30 AM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Stay Informed: Via depi.vic.gov.au. Tune to ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV. Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line (VBIL) on freecall 1800 240 667.
