Anthony Bosworth didnt go to Harvard or Yale. He grew up in towns like Salmon and Sugar and his first job was working the orchards in Wapato. He trained to be a welder, learned to carry his own weight, and not to be afraid to break a sweat or get his hands dirty. And hes raising his five children on wilderness land that he and his wife have cleared themselves in a home theyve built themselves. Anthony spent over 17 years in the military learning the discipline and teamwork necessary in life and death situations. He concluded that police and soldiers, men who carry guns for a living, must not think they have superior rights to the people they serve. Anthony says were losing that commitment in law enforcement. The Seattle Times recently found that ordinary citizens are 400% more likely to face DUI prosecution than law enforcement officers who are driving under the influence. Bosworth says thats a disgrace. It wont be true in Yakima County when hes Sheriff. In Iraq, Anthony designed, built, and operated a portable battlefield detainment camp. Anthonys blueprint for the prison had twin objectives: the safety of his men and the rights of the prisoners (under the Geneva Convention). During his tenure there wasnt a single incident of harm to a prisoner or one of his guards. Those guards were refugees from other units where many of them had problems, but were molding into a team by Anthonys training. Anthony applied his metalworking knowledge to design and build a system to retrofit body armor on Humvees for combat in Iraq. His designs were adopted and copied by the Army. No one knows how many lives his work saved. In Iraq Anthony exhibited capabilities well above his pay grade, consistently had responsibilities above his rank and was frequently described as uniquely qualified. Innovation. Initiative. Respect for citizens rights. Anthony Bosworth will be a new kind of Yakima Sheriff. Protecting Constitutional Rights Anthony wont be working for the EPA or the FEC or the FTC or the BATF or the NRC or the Department of Wildlife or OSHA or the Bureau of Land Management or the IRS. Sheriff Bosworth will work for you. Thats why you should elect him. A New Kind of Sheriff for Yakima County
