As I promised, some pictures of the diving boards in Pripyats famous olympic pool Lazurny (azure). They are one of the most iconic symbols of the abandoned town and therefore also one of the main tourist attractions. Like many other buildings in town, Lazurny was not closed right away after the evacuation, but kept open for ten more years as a leisure facility for those working in the exclusion zone. Some sources claim its final shutdown in 1996 was due to a failed sanitary inspection, but that might well be just another tall tale made up for the amusement of tourists...
