[Bedroom Hajj Diary Part 1] As the actual days of Hajj fast approach, inshaAllah I will be writing a number of statutes outlining what the pilgrims are doing on a day to day basis in order to give readers an interactive glimpse into the Hajj itself. Each day will be accompanied by edited clips from my own Hajj trip last year inshaAllah. Today 7th Dhul Hijjah (Wed 1st October 2014) - The rites of Hajj begin in earnest on the morning of 8th Dhul Hijjah and as such, the hujjaj by this point would have already been in Saudi for varying amounts of time. Depending on the package spending that time in either Makkah or Madinah. Either way by the 7th the majority of pilgrims are moved from the vicinity of the Haram to the Azizyah/Shisha districts of Makkah bordering Mina, in order to ease the mass exodus of pilgrims to their tents there the next day. The video shows our group leaving Madinah after donning the ihram, headed towards Makkah to do umrah then settling in in our apartments in Azizyah for a few days before the start of Hajj. Sheikh Haitham Al-Haddad gives a small reminder on the coach as we leave Madinah. Stay tuned tomorrow for another entry as the Hajj itself begins on 8th Dhul Hijjah inshaAllah.
