Besides the two beautiful rings I got from my darling husband, Dan Sajtar, my other awesome Christmas present was a touching memento so thoughtfully sent by my sister, Lynn Amari. A reminder of the great love my parents shared: when we cleaned out my parents home back in the fall of 2009 (after my moms death), there were dozens and dozens of love letters. Lynn sent one to each of my 5 sisters (yes, 6 girls, no boys) as a memento. Mine is a 28-page (small pages, but still!) note to my mom from my dad from February, 1952. He was a 17-year-old senior and she was a 16-year-old junior in high school. They got married almost exactly 1 year later (didnt tell anyone until she graduated in June, and lived apart until her graduation) and celebrated their 50th anniversary in February of 2003, several months before my father died. This passionate love was our example growing up and was quite amazing to witness. This is why I could still have hope and faith in a love that happened to me and Dan at our middle ages of 47 and 49.
