Best perk me up singles A –Z. Round 2 - Today’s letter is L. Lovin You Ain’t Easy by Michel Pagliaro from Montreal. This was a top ten Canadian hit with legs. Still played a lot right across Canada – even bigger hit in Quebec when it came out from 1971. One of the first records that sounded somewhat Beatleish. Nobody could be The Beatles but The Beatles but this reminiscent song was a really great pop single. Michel Pagliaro (other than recording one full album in English) only wrote less than 6 songs in English – all the rest in French. His greatest triumphs (he had some GREAT singles) were all English. Just about every English song was a pretty fair sized Canadian hit. Cheery bright song with a real McCartney Hot As Sun or Ballad Of John and Yoko bass line. Top notch single when I compare it to any country of the world at that time. Pag – what happened – you had the magic touch, dude. The world should have known more about you. youtube/watch?v=jHi3nwKTEzM&feature=player_detailpage
