Billy Arjan Singh Meets Jim Corbett: In his book Tiger! Tiger! (Jonathan Cape, London, 1984), Arjan Singh has devoted an entire chapter as a tribute to Jim Corbett - A Large Hearted Gentleman. In it he describes how he met Corbett shortly after he killed the man eating Leopard of Rudraprayag. He collected enough courage and asked if he could visit Corbett at his Home. Corbett agreed and asked him to visit him Sunday morning. After the first visit, it became a habit for young Billy visiting Corbett every Sunday morning for a long time and listening to Corbetts Jungle Stories first hand long before they appeared in print. Singh admits that he was overwhelmed by Corbetts modesty and simplicity and his ability to communicate with a young boy, teaching him the essence of jungle lore. This created a lasting impression in Billys life, and inspired him to be a lover of Indian jungles and their inhabitance for the rest of his life.
