Boise 70.3 Water Temp Updates: 3 weeks ago: 52 degrees 2 weeks ago: 56 degrees 1 week ago: 60 degrees Yesterday: 58 degrees (reservoir water levels were raised) Best guess for race weekend: 60-62 degrees. 60 degrees water temps feels cold at first, but most athletes say they feel fine once they get moving. Some will prefer to wear a neoprene cap and socks, but is not necessary if you handle cold well. Weather looks absolutely perfect all week with highs in the 80s. So far no rain or storms on the horizon. At this point we recommend sun block, extra water (air is dry), arm coolers, and your general warm weather gear. Of course dont forget your neoprene cap and socks if you dont handle cold water well. The bike course is always somewhat windy, so if you have trouble in crosswinds you may want to run a more shallow front wheel and a deeper rear wheel. Run course is beautiful and mostly flat. Well shaded by trees and generally cooler because its near the Boise River. Well keep posting updates for our out-of-town friends throughout the week. Well be up at Lucky Peak again tomorrow (Monday) at 6pm and Thursday at 6pm for practice swims. Well be sure to post water temps after the swim. Hope this helps and were looking forward to next weekend!
