Dear Friends, I would like advice on a potential new phone purchase. Verizon is offering me the option to upgrade to a new iPhone 5s for $99 if I re-up my 2 yr contract by the end of May. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy II. Yes, its quite old. But it does still work (rather slowly, though - despite having 80% of its space free). My curiosity is about how the gap between Android and iOS has changed. It seems to have narrowed in the last couple years, but I still want to be sure owning an iPhone doesnt lock me into service and functionality constraints like they used to. Also, I am flirting with the idea of moving to a more progressive service like Ting or Credo ... but, they often have contract-break fee covering offers, so Im not *too* concerned about that. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated - especially if youve played on both sides of the fence. Thanks!
