Dear friends -- My name is Solovino de B and I write on behalf of perhaps a dozen new members, all Americans. (I am not posturing; thats a true number.) Weve been comparing notes about our recent TVBG experiences and a common concern is repeated violations of Rule #19. Were not talking about typos and were lethargically fond of your Britishisms, but we find that the wholesale slaughter of our common tongue -- excruciating grammar, bizarre punctuation, and fuzzy usage -- often destroys the banal intent of the content. It is depressing to us that these errors seem to emanate most often from the island of our languages birth. In the spirit of helpfulness and clarity, we repost Rule #19 (with corrections).
