ETIQUETTE OF GATHERING IN ISLAM *Saying salaam to one another. Say salaam when u enter or exit a gathering, for it is the best of greeting as given by Allah(S.W.T). The prophet (SAW) said,if any1 of u enters a gathering, let him say salaam,if he wants to leave let him say salaam.the 1st salaam is more important than the last one.(Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi). *Answering of greeting is obligatory upon us. Allah (SWT) said in the Quran, surah nisa 4:86,When a (courteous) greeting is offered to you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous or (atleast) of equal courtesy.Allah takes account of all things....more so we acquire rewards which each word of greeting we say to our fellow brothers/sisters in islam.Assalamu alyakum-10 rewards,wa rahmatullahi-10 rewards,wa barakatuh-10 rewards, dat makes hw many???then imagine sayingASSALAMU ALAYKUM WA RAHMTULLAHI WA BARAKATUH WA MAGFIRANTUH WA RIDWANUH WA SHEEFAHATUH WA NEEMATUH,AMAZING RIGHT. *It is proper Islamic etiquette to make room in the gathering for new-comers.this is esp important in crowded gatherings...REFERENCE QURAN 58VS11(SURAH MUJADILLAH). *Do not make someone to stand for u to sit in a gathering except willingly.the best person entiltled to sit is the ist person to sit there. *It is proper to ask for permission before entering any gathering if it is held in a private place like a house.however if it is a public place then permission is not needed.Quran reference surah noor vs 27. *It is proper for Muslims wen sitting with others to be both modest and attentive. They should not keep turning their heads in all directions without cause lest they arouse suspicion and worries. *It is improper to ask someone to give up their space for u or someonelse. *It is permissible to sit in btw 2 pple without permission. *One should listen to others and give them ample time to speak without interruption. *Do not raise ur voices more than necessary wen in a gathering..Quran reference surah hujurah vs 2. *Avoid yawning in a gathering. The prophet (saw) said,if any1 of u wants yawn, then he shld suppress it as much as possible,if the urge cannot be controlled then he shld cover his mouth with hands or handkerchief. *supplicate after a gathering.Abu hurayrah reported that the prophet(saw) said, whoever sits in a gathering and indulges in useless talks and then on getting up supplicates saying,SUBHANAKA ALLAHUMA WA BIHAMDIK ASHHADU AN LAHI LAHA ILLALAHU ASTAGFIRUKA WA ATTUBU ILLAK,Allah forgives him all his sins.....n.b dat doesnt mean that whenever were in a gathering we shld indulge and useless talks and then supplicate afterwards,Allah is all-seeing all-aware,so fear Allah wherever u re(anoda hadith of the prophet). also Abu Hurayrah also reported that the prophet(saw) said, those pple who leave a gathering in which theyve not mentioned Allah amd conclude it without mentioning the name of Allah,is as if it has a foul odour similar to that of a rotten carcass and donkey, and it could be a source of grief to them. Islam is SO BEAUTIFUL ISNT IT.IT teaches us manners and courtesy even in gathering,it doesnt leave any aspect of life.... untouched,I LOVE ISLAM AND I LOVE BEING A MUSLIM,WAT ABT U???SHARE IF U AGREE AND EARN UR REWARD,WASSALAMU ALAYKUM WA RAHMATULLAHI TAALA WA BARAKATUH WA MAGFIRANTUH WA RIDWANH WA SHEEFAHATUH WA NEEMATUH.
