Each year, a school in Tennessee participates in packing Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts. One year, a video was shown to the students, and a third graders eyes began to widen. She turned to her teacher and told her that as a small child growing up in Sudan she had received a box just like that. Everyone was astounded that years later, God would have brought Nyamal and her family out of Africa to this little school, where she would be able to return the blessing by sending a box to another child. Her mother later shared how special and unusual it was to receive a gift at Christmas, and described how 3-year-old Nyamal carried around the boxs enclosed letter for weeks. The children of this small school had been filling boxes at Christmas since they were toddlers, but that year, it was different because they knew someone who could testify to what the gift meant in her life.
