Everyone knows how the Andhra Pradesh’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided the liquor mafia, which escalated the cold war between Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana further. The raids were believed to have been a strategy by the CM Kiran to corner Botsa. This is one of many incidents where the differences between them have come open. Now it is the turn of Botsa to corner the Chief Minister. Taking full advantage of Panchayat debacle in Chittoor, Chief Ministers own district, Botsa said “yes, the majority of the Congress party is indeed on the decline in the first phase of local body polls”. Taking an indirect dig at Kiran, the PCC chief said the results in (Kiran’s native district) Chittoor need to be discussed in the party as the Congress party became weak in the district. Botsa said the party did not get desired results in four or five other districts. The PCC chief has also attacked the Telugu Desam Party for manipulating the figures to their own advantage. Giving rise to the speculations of Peddapalli MP G Vivek rejoining Congress, Botsa said “the doors are alway open”. Botsa however refused to answer on CNN-IBN & the Hindu survey results which said YS Jaganmohan Reddy as the most preferred leader to lead the state of Andhra Pradesh, saying ‘he doesn’t trust the survey’.
