Faults in Cashless Payments for PSVs Even a class one pupil can - TopicsExpress

Faults in Cashless Payments for PSVs Even a class one pupil can tell. Where are the laptops or have tenders been made? Our government pretends to be a digital one and yet they use papers and pens in addressing the public. Why not use laptops or tablets so that we can emulate them? There is no single police station in Kenya where cases are recorded in computers. It is only done in big black books that began during the colonial era. Have we really evolved? Wait a minute! Cashless transport system will hit the floor like madness. Why? It will take longer for every transaction to go through as it has been the case with ATMs. Senior officials in the government have made the tenders to supply those cards and gadgets. We cant forget what happened to BVR kits in last elections. Broadband transmissions in Kenya are quite unreliable and not subject to improve any time soon. Traffic policemen who rely on the 50bobs from touts and drivers will suffer a big blow. They might even turn to pedestrians and personal vehicles. If a PSV vehicle breaks down amid the journey, another from the same SACCO has to get to the scene to take passengers to their destinations. Even digital TV migration has been on hold for months. The government has no right to dictate SACCOs. If we havent matured politically and keep pointing fingers at each other, who can convince me or you that these monkeys are ready to adopt digital technology this fast? My prediction is that cashless payment in public will not work any time soon in Kenya. They should drop unrealistic ambitions to fast weed out corrupt leaders and ineffecient officials for technology to take a natural course. Merry Xmas
