Fence rows and pheasants,hay rolls,golden,fill a freshly cut field wth visual and scentual allure .cows munching and mooing,babies bellowing for their mom,trotting quickly to their side when acknowledged.tall grass swayng in the breeze,large catfish rolling in the sun near the bank....a less than steady stream of monarchs,black and yellow,heading to Mexico.....old barns leaning precariously beautifully dilapitated,weatherbeaten,succumbing to nature in various shades of brown and gray incessant droning of thousands of bees pollinating an overabundance of blackberry blossoms,fishhawks diving for prey crash onto the lake with a fair success rate.clouds slowly build up from the southeast,by days end it will probably rain,peanut butter sandwiches,coffee,bananas,peanuts soda, and water tossed in a sack for sustenance.....hot n muggy to cool and wet.....no fish of any size today.....seems like a long walk back to the truck,muggy, and loaded down with gear..the dirt road,bumpy and dusty ....two fawns ,maybe about two feet tall,side by side,two scared kids,nowhere to run,ran along side the old truck for a good 50 yards before findind a gap in the blackberry bushes to escape off the road....so cute,so small,so beautiful..........is the soul half full or half empty......or is it enough to just know you have one Im home in bed now and it feels like a very nice place to be........I have plans and hopes and dreams for tomorrow and the next day and the next day and..................they dont always pan out but I got em.sleep will come when it comes.and I will be amazed and grateful in my subtle way when I wake up again .another day,another series of adventures and observations
