Fitness myth #1: Low fat diets are the way to drop bodyfat! This claim is a complete lie and I will elaborate as to why it is! To begin with, a low fat diet may work for a little while, but eventually your hormone levels will crash! I say this because fats are necessary to have stable hormone levels! For my men, if you drop your fats super low, you testosterone levels will plummet as well! What does this men? You may have a hard time getting it up, you will feel tired all of the time, you wont be able to build muscle, and you may have to get on hormone replacement therapy for the rest of your life! For my women, it could mess up your estrogen levels, which is the hormone which makes you a woman! Its what gives you your curves, lighter voice, soft skin etc and the same thing applies! You may have to get hormone replacement therapy as well! Furthermore, for both parties you could screw up your bodies natural hunger switches as well, which are the hormones leptin(tells you when you are full) and ghrelin(tells you when you are hungry)! If this happens it will be extremely hard almost impossible to get to a healthy bodyweight! The main thing as far as fats go is to stay away from any unnatural source! You want to stick strictly to animal fats and natural, unprocessed fats like olive oil, coconut oil and more expensive oils, not Crisco, corn oil and canola oil!
