For it is by grace u have been saved, through faith & this not from urselves, It is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph.2: 8-10. Sola Fide Faith Alone. Faith is an instrument caused of justification. It means by which the merits of Christ are given to us. Ure not justified bcuz of ur faith, that would mean its by works. Paul, says were saved by Gods grace through the faith, which is a gift from God , not becauseof our faith, but its simple, bcuz of the grace & mercy of God while we were dead in trespasses & sin. Meaning that faith is the empty open hands by which we grab hold of the grace of God in Christ that isnt held out to us in The Word of God (Jesus is the Word).
