Free Will If you love something for what it is, you set it - TopicsExpress

Free Will If you love something for what it is, you set it free, let it be, and let it pay the price of liberty. You warn it when it takes its flight, and hope that you have taught it right, but if you love what that thing is, you set it free, let it be, to have its voice to make its choice, to plot the course of its own way, to take its risks and enter the fray. Every choice made has its end, some will heal and some will rend, and sometimes slowly, sometimes faster, bad choices lead to sure disaster, but if you love what that thing is, you set it free, let it be, and sadly you may watch it fall, and if you love – that tastes of gall. You set it free, to choose you let it, but when it falls you don’t forget it. You stand and watch and reach a hand, a safety net is what you planned, something to help correct the course, but never the use of total force. If you love something not for what it is, but for what it is that you would have it be, you’ve not given liberty, you’ve not set it free, and the love you claim to give is not a love by which to live, but love of self and a gift of chains, a love in which your will reigns, and what you love is sorely bound – its true freedom never found. If you love something for what it is, you set it free, let it be, and let it pay the price of liberty. help it when it calls for aid, let it know the price is paid, but if it will not ask, do not think it is your task to bind it tight by your own might. If you love something for what it is, you set it free, let it be, and let it pay the price of liberty. God did
