October 20, 2014 Dr. Jean Jones Local APSCUF President Centennial Hall Edinboro, PA 16444 Dear Dr. Jones: I am writing to update you concerning the July 30, 2014 letter you received from me regarding notice of possible retrenchment effective at the conclusion of the 2014- 2015 academic year. Over the last few months, the Administration, APSCUF, and the various faculty in the affected departments have worked cooperatively to review and discuss alternatives to retrenchment. The results from the discussions and our analysis have led me to conclude that it will not be necessary to issue notices of retrenchment to individual tenured faculty by October 30, 2014 or to any probationary tenure track faculty by their respective CBA dates. Thank you for your cooperation and input during our meet and discuss sessions, which helped us evaluate viable alternatives to retrenchment.
