Goede avond allemaal...I want to tell you a story...I like this story .... ...ANAK - ANAK AND BONGKORON....BORNEO... A young man called Anak-Anak took his blowpipe and poisoned darts and went to the thick jungle to hunt. It was not a good day for him for he did not find any game except for some lizards. So after catching several lizards, he put them inside his rattan bag to take home. On his way home, he came to a stream where an old witch was casting her net to catch fish. Where are you going Anak - Anak? asked the old witch.I am looking for a wife,he replied. I will help you,she said, but first you must go to my house, beat my children and slash all the potatoes and vegetables in my garden. Anak- Anak went to her house, but he did not beat the children. Instead, he distributed the lizards he caught amongst them. The children had them for lunch. Anak - Anak also did not slash the potatoes and vegetables in the garden. He did however, removed all the weeds growing around them. In the evening, the old witch came home with some fish. She cooked the fish, dug up some potatoes from the garden and boiled them. When the food was ready, she invited Anak-Anak to eat with her and the children. After dinner, everybody went to bed. That night the witch made strange noises to frighten Anak-Anak. In the morning, she asked him if he was frightened. But he was not. He knew it was the old witch who made those strange noises. The witch then asked Anak-Anak to go to her garden and look for a young gourd. In the meantime, she would put a few chickens in a cage for him to take home. On his way home, he must throw the gourd in the stream where he met the witch. He must also take a bath in the same stream. So after throwing the gourd, Anak-Anak dived into the water. As he emerged, he saw a beautiful girl swimming towards him. Who are you? asked Anak-Anak. I am the gourd which you threw and if you like, you can take me as your wife,the beautiful girl answered. Anak-Anak was very happy and went home with a wife.
