Got back from 60s weekend at Weston Super Mare yesterday. Arrived Friday about 4.00 booked in , settled, had meal which was ok then into hall for the evening. About 2 hours of Line dancing and bingo which we could have done without. Dusty Springfield was first followed by Marmalade (Original) 2 hours of music, drink and dancing, good evening as about 40 from Bridgewater and Black Mountain Chapters were there. Saturday we all went into Weston and had a bit of a walk, lunch in Weatherspoons and back for The Beatles at 3.00, now they were great and worth coming for. Meal and the usual then the music, Mersey Makers and Mersey Beats (Original) Another great evening. Sunday down into Weston and were lucky enough to meet up with Royal British Legion starting their Poppy Campaign, so watched the Pipes and Drums arrive followed by the RBL Bikers. Red balloons and poppies were let go up wind and made a spectacular scene as they went up into the wind. Met with my Brother Ian, Anita and daughter Zoe for a lunch which was good as havent seen them for a long time. Missed the bus so got a taxi back !!!! Billy Fury and Amen Corner were on in the evening, again well worth seeing and many memories were bought back. Home Monday via Bridgewater and Plymouth HD Dealers. In all a good time was had and well worth the effort. Thanks to Bridgewater and Black Mountain Chapters for the company and involving us.
