HONEST FACEBOOK DAY CONFESSIONS: There are days that I cant write at all, that nothing works, and I question what Im doing. I have a blacklist, and its growing every day. Five weeks ago I wrote three stories over three days, and Ive sold all of them in that time. I havent been able to write anything of value since then—what the hell? It gives me enormous pleasure to put the final edits on my novel Disintegration—I think its my best work to date. Ive broken the no simultaneous submissions policy more times than I can count. I get jealous of other authors all the time. I dont like nasty reviews about any book I write, edit, or publish. I have Google alerts set up for every book Im attached to. I wonder if Ill EVER get a teaching job. At times I feel like my MFA is worthless. Im surrounded by so many talented authors, that it genuinely gives me great pleasure to see them place stories, sell novels, get agents, and sell film rights—I honestly believe there is room for us all.
