Hash 104 Risan - Sunday 26th October 11 keen walkers/runners - TopicsExpress

Hash 104 Risan - Sunday 26th October 11 keen walkers/runners and 3 dogs met in the seafront park for the very first Risan Hash. The trail had been prepared by Ruth and Bill and with due protocol, the event got underway on a pleasant sunny afternoon. The runners and walkers trail headed uphill from the town centre with the routes diverging and converging on a couple of occasions. The general consensus was that the trail had been enjoyable and interesting (as promised) with colourful route markings and excellent views over Risan town and the Bay. The runners felt the route could have been a little more taxing, especially for the more energetic - point noted and so we will be prepared for next time! The Hash circle at the completion of the trail was overseen, according to timeless tradition, by the RA. The business was concluded with the naming ceremony for the first time Hashers. As the serious debate intensified in an attempt to propose appropriate names, the peace was interrupted with the divine intervention of the pleasant but extremely loud peal of the church bells just a few metres away. As if it were a sign from above, a rapid consensus was agreed and Ruth and Bill were ceremoniously named Ding Dong and Dong Ding respectively, by the sword wielding acting GM followed by a shower of leaves, soil and cold beer! After the necessary social drinking interlude everyone retired to the local Grill Restaurant where the evening festivities continued.
