Hello: This sweet lab mix boy was abandoned in a field and Maureen was able to capture him. He is now looking for a home or foster. Maureen needs to find him some place soon as she and her husband are moving. If you can help him, please call Charlene at 916-477-7046 and I will put you in touch with Maureen. Thank you Charlene Wolfe Check out his information and pictures below. Maureen here, we corresponded back in December regarding a lab mix I found abandoned by our home a few months back? Im curious if you know of anyone who can foster this guy.....I have a rather wonderful update on him..... We have had him with us at our home for several weeks now, this guy is the sweetest dog ever! I have kept him indoors now for about 4 to 5 weeks, he is clearly house broken, sleeps well in a kenneled off area at night and to date has had absolutely no accidents in the house at all, he loves my sofa =) and =( He is starved for attention, when I sit with him on the sofa he cant get close enough to me, he curls right up next to me and likes to be pet a lot, hes so affectionate....I feel so bad because Ive spent all these weeks / months working with him to get him where he is today as far as calming his temperament and gaining his trust, Im now back to work in the bay area (Walnut Creek) Hes home alone all day, we are starting the move process as well for our family I mentioned this in my previous emails.......I cannot keep him much longer, this saddens me so much but we have to move.......If you remember when I first wrote to you this guy was living in a field not too far from my home, over the course of several weeks we saw him every day en-route to and from our daughters school, we saw him become so skinny and unresponsive to very aggressive to where we have him now, I truly believe someone abandon him back in this field and he was aggressive to protect his marked off territory, he was in a field where we often saw coyotes, so I can only imagine the troubles he may have encountered? He has made such great progress with me / our family, I take him on walks in the evening and he does very well on a leash, he is quite strong and it probably looks more like he walks me in the evenings, he has become to like car rides too.....The sad part is I cannot keep him, maybe two three more weeks then Ill be forced to take him to a local shelter, this tears me apart thinking about it, I have scoured Craigslist in hopes of finding an add of a missing dog as far back as July / August of last year and so far nothing =( Ive checked the local animal shelter websites for missing dogs and nothing close to his description has come up.....Ive asked everyone I know if theyd like a dog and no luck there either........my husband thinks this dog is some where between 6 to 8 years old, I dont know how or why he thinks this but its just his logical guess, the dog is not puppy active hes very laid back........He really is super sweet! he desperately needs a nice home where he can get a lot of attention, and sleep indoors, I am desperate to find him a home, I cannot continue to care for him beyond the end of January, its not fair to him since Im not around during the day, I leave for work at 5:30am and not home in the evening until 6:00ish or so..... Please can you help? or at least point me in a direction of possible help elsewhere, thanks so much for all your time and any help you may be able to provide. By the way my Grandson calls the dog Cranberry? I have no idea where that came from, possibly because my Grandson is 2 and a half =) Thank you so much,, We can provide transportation. -- Sincerely, Charlene Wolfe Independent Volunteer Networker of Rescue Listed Sacramento SPCA Animals SSPCANetworkers@gmail And our facebook page at: facebook/SacramentoSheltersCanineRescueNetworkers
