Hello again, Here is the link for all of the Unity info for this semester: https://web.extension.illinois.edu/registration/?RegistrationID=11222 The Unity coordinator said that if you are NEW to Unity, you need to do one of the volunteer training sessions (sign up for time/day using link above), the online Child Protection training (it takes about 15 min or so, print your certificate), the Illinois state police background check form and the DCFS background form (print both of these forms using the link). It is best to have your certificate and 2 background check forms completed before your training session!!! All of this is free :) If you are an education major, you already have an ISU background check on file with the Teacher Ed center, which can be used in place of the Illinois state police background check. You still need to fill out the DCFS form, do the online training, and volunteer training!!! Bring a copy of your ISU background check as well! Please, please, please bring your 2 background check forms and your Child Protection certificate to the training sessions. It just makes things easier. If you are OLD to Unity, disregard all the above info. Youre good to go! Remember, we will be working with children, so although all this stuff may seem time consuming, the experience will be worth all the hassle! L&R
