Hm... Interesting. Well... I *am* glad at least that these women havent been completely washed away with time and the patriarchal interpretations of evidence over the course of *history*. However... I do note that theres still something wrong going on because of the many times that in order to be herself, a woman had to take on the guise of a man, and that this was *only* something she was able to do if she avoided romance and family (giving those things up). I think that kinda sucks, and says a lot about how things today havent changed much. It all does make me wonder what things were like *before* we all settled down, back when we were very small tribal groups who *had* to rely on everyone in that group knowing how to do pretty much everything (think of what its like in small businesses - even the managing director will be taking out the trash and cleaning the toilet). Without the numbers needed to permit us to specialise, the only time youd see much difference between any of us is in the *specific* instances where personal talents or physical difference presented themselves as real factors for consideration... like being heavily pregnant, childbirth, or differences in emotional stress at the loss of an individual e.g. spouse versus friend. Compassion and allowance for those differences when they presented themselves would abound, because at the end of the day when theres so few of you it doesnt matter if youre disabled, old, young, gay, single, pregnant, darker-skinned, anything... you would be needed and youd only be ostracised in the most extreme of circumstances.
